When I first moved to Vermont in 1994, I met Kate and Art Brinton, an elderly Quaker couple who took me under their wing. They became like family to me and words cannot capture how much Kate meant to me and what a treasure it was for her to come into my life. The Brintons lived in an old farmhouse in the hills outside of Ludlow that they had named Wenlock Edge. I wrote this song for Kate for her 89th birthday. She passed away a little over a month later.
